What Reddit says
Astra
Reddit users discuss Astra mainly as a free WordPress theme with an optional Astra Pro add-on, and some ask whether it is too heavy for beginners. Recurring problems include WordPress.com plans blocking theme installs, Pro license activation failing, and difficulty customising headers and menus.
Avada
Reddit discussion of Avada is mostly negative, led by reports of critical Avada Builder vulnerabilities (file read and SQL injection) and one site owner who suspects an Avada exploit led to a hack. Other threads cover options-page errors and questions about compatibility with WordPress 7 updates, and no posts clearly praise the theme.
